Today, your child learned about the time Jesus died on the cross. The events that took place on that day may be difficult for young children to understand, but at the same time, it is important to know that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Your child also learned the need to be sorry for the times he or she sins and to ask for God’s forgiveness. (Scripture used: Matthew 27:11-44, Mark 15:1-41, Luke 23:1-49, John 18:28- 19:37)
(Bible versions used are selected to help young children learn and understand the meaning of the scripture.)
“Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them’” Luke 23:34a NIV
Practice this verse several times with your child during the week. This will help your child remember the verse, and it will also help to reinforce what he or she learned during class.
